Getting Started...
Well, I am going to try this out. I have been trying for too long now to keep in contact with everyone and feel guilty that I can't do it effectively. Hopefully, this will be a way to keep everyone up on all that has been going on since I left Michigan. I will try to get some pictures up shortly. We were back in Michigan last week and I had a wonderful time with my family. But I really love being back in Kentucky and getting back to my studies. For those of you who may be interested....I am slowly working my way through classical Hebrew, Personal Evangelism and Biblical Hermeneutics. I love my classes! I have decided to postpone my graduation until next Spring. I only have 3 classes left but I intend to take additional language classes in Hebrew and I still need to take two classes in Greek and a class in German. So I will be busy!

Hi Melissa. What reading materials do you use in the personal evangelism class? What is Bible hermun...tics?
tom
Hi Tom, One of the main books we use for Personal evangelism is a book I used in one of Bryan Craddocks Wend night classes back at Calvary. It is called Tell the Truth By Will Metzger. We are also doing a report on Vol 1 "A Pastor's Sketches" by Ichabod Spencer which is really good. Biblical Hermeneutics is learning correct techniques for Biblical interpretation to aid in exposition. It helps in reading the text as the author intended it to be read, considers who the authors original audience was and also how it can be applied today. Genre of literature is important in the type of techniques that will be applied. I really enjoy the books from this class; "let the reader understand; A Guide to interpreting and applying the bible by Dan McCarney and Charles Clayton, "Getting the Message; A Plan for Interpreting and Applying the Bible" by Daniel M. Doriani, and "According to Plan; the unfolding Revelation of God in the Bible" by Graeme Goldsworthy are some of our texts. I will putting a reading list on my blog...so watch of books. I am sure there will be quite a few you'd be interested in.

I'm praying for you about your Hebrew.. Our Missions Director said you were not the only one who struggles with Hebrew, so I'm assuming he did too..LOL
Love you lots, Nana
